Error description

  • When you invoke the vi editor from menu dbaccess and then
    interrupt (control-c or backspace), the interrupt is not handled

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED:                                              *
    * All Unix users, using an editor that doesn't ignore *
    * interrupts                                                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * dbaccess is not ignoring the interrupt signal from vi. vi *
    * will pass this signal to dbaccess which will kill *
    * dbaccess and destroy the parent process' terminal settings. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Upgrade to IDS 11.50.xC6 and above. *
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Problem first fixed in IDS 11.50.xC6 so the interrupt signal is
    ignored and that the child signal is handled.

Temporary fix
