Error description

• A WebSphere MQ v7 JMS application receiving a message from a
  temporary queue or topic gets a ClassCastException similar to:
  
  java.lang.ClassCastException :
  com.ibm.msg.client.jms.internal.JmsTemporaryQueueImpl
  incompatible with com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueue
  at
  com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueueReceiver.getQueue(MQQueueReceiver.java:98)
  
  when calling getQueue() or getTopic()
  .

Local fix

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  USERS AFFECTED:
  This issue affects users of the WebSphere MQ v7 JMS client
  calling MQQueueReceiver.getQueue(), MQQueueBrowser.getQueue() or
  MQTopicSubscriber.getTopic() when receiving a message from a
  temporary queue or topic.
  
  Platforms affected:
  All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  The problem occurred because the common client code held a
  JmsTemporaryQueue if the queue was a temporary one, and a
  JmsQueue if it was not. In the non-temporary case, the returned
  queue could be cast to an MQQueue; JmsTemporaryQueue did not
  inherit from MQQueue and so could not be cast correctly.
  

Problem conclusion

• When one of the methods showing the problem obtains a temporary
  queue or topic from the common client code, this will be wrapped
  in a MQTemporaryQueue or MQTemporaryTopic wrapper class to
  ensure that the returned class type is correct.
