• A .NET application that got a message with a CCSID of 1051 gave
  the following exception:
  
  System.NullReferenceException: Object reference is not defined
  at object instance.

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  Users of .NET (including VB .NET) that get messages in a CCSID
  that does not have a direct mapping to a .NET encoding
  (including CCSID 1051).
  
  Platforms affected:

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  The .NET code was referencing a property of a null object (in a
  case where it was valid for the object to be null). The problem
  was seen when a message was got which had an MQ CCSID that did
  not have a direct mapping to a .NET Encoding (such as CCSID
  1051).
  

Problem conclusion

• The .NET code has been updated so the object property is not
  referenced when the object is null.
