Error description
A HATS customer has a screen that contains the data <S> on it. HATS is interpreting this data as the HTML tag Strikeout. Thus, the screen that is renders now has a strikeout through the <S>.
Local fix
Using Char by Char alignment will alleviate this problem.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Any HATS users that have host fields that * * are also valid HTML tags * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HATS incorrectly renders host screen * * fields that are valid HTML tags. * * For example, if a green screen has * * data on it such as "<S> Select", then * * HATS interprets the <S> as an HTML * * Strikeout tag and renders the text, * * "Select" with a strikeout through * * it. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Host screens may have fields that contains valid HTML tags such as <S>. If HATS interprets a field on a screen with a valid HTML tag such as <S> then all of the data in that field will be rendered according to the HTML tag. The output of the rendered screen does not appear as expected.
Problem conclusion
A new parameter has been added to the runtime settings that will ignore HTML tags that are part of a field. The new escapeHTML parameter is a runtime setting that is set to false by default. The new option can be turned on in the *.hap file under the setting of: <class name="com.ibm.hats.common.RuntimeSettings"/> add the following statement to turn on this option: <setting name="escapeHTMLTags" value="true"/>
Temporary fix
You can also avoid this problem by using character by character rendering in the field widget.
