IC60712: CLIENT RECEIVES INCOMPLETE REPLY MESSAGE WHEN MQPUT FAILS WITH MQRC_PUT_INHIBITED

Error description

  • A JMS client receives an incomplete reply message when MQPUT
    fails with MQRC_PUT_INHIBITED. The v7 queue manager does not
    send the message with the MQMD and MQPMO fields to a v6 JMS
    client.

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    V6 JMS client users connecting to a V7 queue manager.
    
    Platforms affected:
    All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    The v7 queue manager does not construct the entire message when
    it receives any error with a MQPUT. Instead a rfpMQAPI structure
    is passed to a v6 JMS client. While v7 clients can interpret the
    message, a v6 client cannot.  This results in a v6 client
    throwing a MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR message.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes have been carried out to ensure that v7 queue
    managers correctly send a message which can be interpreted by a
    V6 client.
