IC60652: MQHTTP50001 ERROR SEEN WHEN USING WEBSPHERE MQ BRIDGE FOR HTTP

Error description

  • When using the WebSphere MQ Bridge for HTTP, the MQ HTTP
    operation fails, with the client receiving the error message:
    
    message transmission failed. REASON:MQHTTP50001: There has been
    an unexpected problem in MQ HTTP server.Contact the system
    administrator of the HTTP bridge.
    
    In the WebSphere Application Server system logs, there is the
    following corresponding exception message:
    
    java.lang.NullPointerExceptionjava.lang.NullPointerException

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    This issue affects users of the WebSphere MQ Bridge for HTTP,
    particularly those putting heavy loads on the application.
    
    Platforms affected:
    All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    Occasionally the WebSphere MQ Bridge for HTTP application
    attempted to reuse a session connection to WebSphere MQ which th
    WebSphere Application Server had expired.
    
    When this occurred a NullPointerException was thrown on the
    WebSphere Application Server and the HTTP operation failed to
    complete.  The client received a MQHTTP50001 message.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ Bridge for HTTP application will not use
    expired sessions.
