IC60268: TPC-R WINDOWS INSTALLER HANGS ON XCOPY COMMAND.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When installing TPC-R, the installer hangs at 72% complete.
  The  xcopy command being executed in the installer is hanging
  and this is causing the installer to stop.
  

Local fix

• This is a workaround:
  Delete the replication directory (since terminating the
  installer will not roll-back the files already copied to the
  created directory), and RM_Install.jacl from the
  C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp directory.  This file being
  present is causing the xcopy command to hang which is causing
  the installer problems.  After deleting these directories and
  this file, run the installer again.
  

Problem summary

• The TPC-R installer hangs under certain conditions.  The xcopy
  command is used to copy a file during the installation process.
  If the file already exists in the target location, the xcopy
  command will hang and never complete.
  

Problem conclusion

• The TPC-R installer has been modified to force the xcopy command
  to overwrite the target file if one exists.  This will prevent
  the installer freeze from occurring.
  This will will be integrated into TPC-R 4.1 and 3.4.1.4.
