IC59033: RUNNING THE FSRM WITH THE HSM SERVICE MAY HANG UP THE WINDOWS

Error description

• Enabling the Windows File Server Resource Manager's Quota
  Management and/or File Screening Management on directories
  containing TSM HSM for Windows stub files can cause the file
  server hang on stub recalls.
  
  Problem Description: The File Server Resource Manager installs a
  driver, quota.sys, when activated. On read or write requests,
  which trigger the recall of TSM HSM for Windows stub files,
  quota.sys queries the name of the file read or written. This
  call does never return and hangs up the Windows operating
  system. There will be no BSOD, but Windows will go asleep.
  
  TSM Versions Affected: TSM HSM Client for Windows versions
  5.5.1.4, 5.5.1.0, 5.5.0.0, 5.4.2.5, 5.4.2.3, 5.4.2.0, 5.4.0.3,
  5.4.0.0
  
  Customer/L2 diagnostics (if applicable): Running the File Server
  Resource Manager is incompatible with running the TSM HSM for
  Windows Recall Service.
  
  Check if the File Server Resource Manager is active on the
  system. (Check at Control Panel / Administrative Tools / File
  Server Resource Manager)
  

Local fix

• Deactivate the FSRM or
  use a TSM HSM Client for Windows later than 5.5.1.4, or 5.4.2.5,
  respectively.
