APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The input field is set with
    'eliminateMaxlengthInIdeographicFields=true'
    The user types in characters exceeding its field size using IME
    Either DBCS or halfwidth-katakana are typed in,
    and commits the candidates, popup window comes up several times
    ---
    The problem happens only when setting for Internet Option is
    set as below:
    Tool>Internet Option> Security tab> Customize Level>
    Script> Allow paste operations via script> set to 'Prompt'
    The contents of popup window is
    'Do you want to allow this page to paste information from
    your clipboard?'
    

Local fix

  • set 'Enable' instead of 'Prompt'
    Allow paste operations via script> set to 'Prompt'
    

Problem summary

    HATS design was reusing paste function to process the exceed
    string.
    

Problem conclusion

  • HATS has been changed to use a variable to keep and process
    the exceed string.
