APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Unable to start trace using the '-b FDC=' option, and end it
    with the -c INTERVAL= options.

The -b option allows the trace to start when an FDC is
    generated as specified.
    For example: strmqtrc -t detail -b FDC=ZX005025
This should start the trace when an FDC created with PROBE ID
    ZX005025 is generated.

The -c option specifies how long the trace should run for once
    started, before it ends.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of the new -b and -c trace options

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The strmqtrc -b and -c options fail to work successfully. When
set, the trace fails to trigger on the -b option, and once
triggered will fail to end based on the supplied time in the -c
    option.

Problem conclusion

  • WebSphere MQ has been modified to ensure the -b and -c options
work as documented for the reported scenario.
