IC43577: ERROR "INVALID SPY MEMORY REFERENCE: HEAP#=0, BLOCKID=..."

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After running about 25-30 testcases the customer receives the
  following error:
  Invalid Spy Memory reference: Heap#=0, blockid=0x00000000
  uid=0x0000000
  Every test fails with this same error after it is hit the first
  time.
  
  1. Version of tools the customer is using:
          Rational TestManager 2003.06.12.280.000
          Rational XDE Tester 2003.06.12.280.000
          Rational ClearCase 2003.06.12.280.008
          IBM Extension for Terminal Based Applications Version 1
  GA level
  
  2. Scripts that customer is playing back in Test Manager:
          XDE Tester scripts stored in ClearCase
  
  3. Does this happen when playing back on every machine or just
  one?
          I haven't ran this volume of tests on any other
  machines.
  
  4. Are you using Test Agents?
          Not currently because we are having another problem with
  Test Agent.
  
  5. HotFixes installed on the machine in question:
         XDE Tester Hotfix 14
  
  6. Stats of Machine:
   I have attached the configuration as reported in TestManager.
  
   On this partition the customer currently has 22gb of freespace
  (c).  The machine has 1 gb of RAM, it's a P4 3.00 GHz processor.
  
  2. Application Under Test:
     It is a main frame application using the IBM extension for
  Terminal-based Applications, which is a Java based mainframe
  terminal emulator.
  
  Also, I am not sure if this makes any difference, but the
  customer is running the same Suite of 6-7 testcases through 15
  iterations.  This error occurs about the 5th iteration of the
  Suite.
  

Local fix

• This will be resolved in a future release
