Error description
Scenario: 1. Open the CATDrawing in CATIA Drafting W/b 2. Change the value of precision of the dimension in the drawing . 3. Observe the final value of the dimension tolerance. Problem: The dimension tolerance is incorrect according to the rules of r ounding off. Expected Result: The dimension tolerance should be correctly rounded off accordin g to rules of rounding off.

Problem conclusion
THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE ANOTHER SYMPTOM OF THE PROBLEM REPORTED IN APAR HD96458 OR THE ANSWER MADE FOR THIS DUPLICATE APAR APPLIES ALSO TO THE CURRENT PROBLEM. Additional Closure Information: Incident Diagnosis: Dimension tolerance does not get properly rounded off. Technical Explanation: This issue is an exact duplicate of BR10000093331 available to the user through the knowledge base. In section B-B, the measured value is 7.99999999999943mm . As a consequence : - Upper limit is 7.99999999999943mm + 0.015mm = 8.01499999999943mm that gives 8.01mm rounded of to 0.01mm - Lower limit is 7.99999999999943mm + 0mm = 7.99999999999943mm that gives 8.00mm rounded of to 0.01mm In section A-A, the measured value is 7.99999999999955mm. As a consequence : - Upper limit is 7.99999999999955mm + 0.015mm = 8.01499999999955mm that gives 8.015mm rounded off to 0.001mm - Lower limit is 7.99999999999943mm + 0mm = 7.99999999999943mm that gives 8.000mm rounded off to 0.001mm Thus, the behavior is correct according to actual specifications for rounding off values. Measure between used on Generated Item gives approximated results which are less precise than dimensions which computes exact sectioning and projections of the 3D geometry. Therefore you should always trust Dimensions and not measures in a drawing. On the other hand, as mentioned earlier, all the dimensions values differ from less than 1e-9mm which means they have to be considered as the same dimensions (we guess the real physical parts will never be manufactured at this level of precision). In other words, the behavior is correct according to actual specifications for rounding off values. Duplicate BR: BR10000093331
