HE11026: SMARTEAM VIEWER CAN NOT VIEW STANDARD PARTS IN AN ASSEMBLY

APAR status

• Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description

• Environment -
  Windows XP SP2
  SmarTeam R21 SP1 + SmarTeam Viewer + PLM DB
  Scenario -
  1. Login to PLMDB_R21 as admin
  2. Select the project 'PRJ-000004 Inventor-Two Seater jet Ski'
  3. Open the documents tree of above project
  4. select the object 'ASY-0000040 - PANEL PCB Released'
  5. On profile card, click 'Viewer' tab
  ==>> In the viewer, the standard parts are not displayed.
  ==>> In the model tree of viewer you see messages indicating
  that the standard part ipt files not found.
  6. Locate that standard part in the assembly tree in the
  Editor, then click the viewer tab
  ==>> The selected standard part can be displayed in the
  viewer.
  Expected Result -
  It should be visible in Viewer.
  Additional Info -
  I have checked in R20SP6. Problem is reproducible on that as
  well.

• THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN I-PLM Collaborative
  Innovation
  Additional Closure Information:
  Diagnosis: Standard Parts can not viewed in SmarTeam Viewer
  Reason: Lifecycle rules in PLMDB configured that standard
  parts does not copied upon copy file operation. To view
  Inventor assembly it is required copy all parts include
  standard parts.
  By-pass:
  Set lifecycle rule for document tree class rules as following:
  Original Operation - Copy File
  Destination Operation - Copy File (instead of No Operation)
  Original Class - Assembly
  Destination Class - Standard
  Note that this setting will copy all standard parts to user's
  work directory when open assembly from SmarTeam.
