Error description

  • SCENARIO:
    Customer Scenario ???
    Set the SolidWorks.LoadPropertiesOnOpen = TRUE

Create the following structure in SmarTeam
    . ASM-New (State New) containing
    . . PRT-CheckIn (State Checked In)
    . . PRT-New (State New)
    . DRW-New (State New)
    - In the Drawing, create a BOM-Table which contains the two
    Parts
(Define "Part Number" and "Detail Description" in the BOM)
    - Modify the Detailed Description of all Objects in the
SmarTeam Profile Card via context menu / Update and add for
    example "Modif"
    - Open the ASM-New to SolidWorks
-> The Detailed Description of the Assembly is correctly
modified, as the State of the Object is New
=> The message appears, that the SolidWorks Part has been
modified and therefore should be CheckedOut! (this is not
correct, as ReadOnly Objects are not taken into account by
    the Setting SolidWorks.LoadPropertiesOnOpen)
    - Open the Drawing to SolidWorks
-> Information in the properties of the drawing are correctly
    updated
-> The Information in the BOM for the PRT-New is correctly
    updated too
=> But the information for the CheckedIn Part should NOT be
updated, as the Part has the State "CheckedIn".
When opening the Drawing without the Assembly opened, the
information concerning the modified CheckedIn Part appears.
When performing now a Ctrl&Q, the information in the Drawing
    are updated
=> This is NOT expected for the ReadOnly Checked In Part.

    Simple Scenario ???
    - Set the SolidWorks.LoadPropertiesOnOpen = TRUE
    - Create Part and Save to SW.
    - Checkin that Part.
    - Modify the Detail Description in SmarTeam.
    - Open the Part in SolidWorks (Don???t Check Out)
The message appears, that the SolidWorks Part has been
    modified.
    - Check the Properties of the Part, you will find the updated
PLM Attributes for this Checked In (read Only) part.
    .
As per ST-SW Integration Documentation, Getting into
Production -> Mapping When Opening a Document - following
    note is mentioned,
Note: The SolidWorks.LoadPropertiesOnOpen key operates on
checked-out documents only and does not affect read-only
    documents.
RESULT:- It gives Modification Notification for Checked In
    Part (Read Only) Part.
Also it updates the properties of Checked In part (Read Only
    part)
    .
EXPECTED RESULT:- It should not give Modification
Notification for read Only Parts and should not Update the
properties of Checked In part while opening in Solidworks.

    Additional Closure Information:
As mentioned in closure description before, SmarTeam update
properties for all loaded files, including checked in and
    released files.
Bypass suggested is to not use default load prop on open but
    use load prop on demand.
Documentation for LoadPropertiesonOpen will be updated in
    R20SP7.
