Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION V5R22 GA level.
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R21 SP1.
    Additional Closure Information:
    .
    Technical explanation of the defect:
Data recovery is not possible with specific CATSettings.
SmarTeam specific initializations are invoked at the very
beginning of the CATIA process when its specific settings are
set, that create the CATIA session and its associated working
documents very early, before Incremental backup restoration
command is invoked, therefore the checks performed on
documents in session by this command become wrong.
    .
    Technical explanation of the correction:
The correction has been delivered so that checks at the
beginning of the restoration commands have been updated to
authorize some specific types of session documents implicitly
created by SmarTeam initializations, and that do not
    interfere with restoration process.
Smarteam data cannot be managed by Automatic Save because
    their specific environment information
are not natively taken into account. A user warning is now
raised and incremental backup deactivated when SmarTeam
documents are loaded in session and as long as these
    documents remain in session.
After restarting CATIA, data is restored and Incident report
    is displayed as
    ?Incident report
Data successfully restored. Please save all to activate
    incremental backup again.?
In addition to this, the V5R21GA documentation has been
updated to inform user about this functional limitation.

    > Data Save > Incremental Backup
    .
    Following information is modified.
"The incremental warm start mechanism is available for the
CATPart, CATProduct and CATDrawing document workbenches.
However, the restoring of VPM V4 or SmarTeam documents in
warm start mode is not supported. Consequently, do not
activate the Incremental backup option if you are working
with VPM or SmarTeam documents: if you do, error messages
will appear when attempting to save the documents."
    .
    By-pass :
Delete settings specific to SmarTeam before launching CATIA
