Error description
SCENARIO: Preparation: Delete existing Licensing.CATSettings file on each machine. Use concurrent license and Machine A and B are pointing to same license server. . On machine A 1. Launch CATIA in admin mode License Manager Window will open 2. Select and Lock any one available license (a license which has serial number) and click OK 3. Close CATIA . On machine B 5. Launch CATIA in admin mode License Manager Window will open 6. Select and lock license (same license which is locked at step 2 on machine A) and click OK 7. Close CATIA . On machine A 8. Launch CATIA in User mode CATIA V5 is started with granted license (license selected at step 2) 9. Keep the CATIA V5 session active-This is key point . On machine B 10. Launch CATIA in admin mode License Manger window is opened because the license is granted to machine A. 11. Unlock the locked license and click OK 12. Close CATIA . 13. Launch CATIA in admin mode Observation: License Manger window is opened however the license is not unlocked. . PROBLEM: Administrator settings are not taken into account and it is not possible for administrator to unlock a license if license is granted to another machine. . EXPECTED RESULT: Administrator settings should be taken into account. i.e. License should be unlocked after step 13

THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA Additional Closure Information: . INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS: Unable to unlock a license when it is granted to another machine/user. . RESTRICTION EXPLANATION: In the scenario, Administrator tries to unlock the license though license is not granted to him as it is consumed by other user. However Administrator/ User could not able to do any task without a license. Similarly Locking or unlocking the setting only works when a license is granted. User/administrator should first ensure that he has a valid license grated to him before applying the settings. . By-pass: None.
