Error description

  • Scenario:
    1. While performing the unfold operation in Generative shape
    design workbench
    2. A "Display distortions" button is used
    3. "Flattened Surface Length Distortion" dialog box is
    displayed.
The unfold command shows different values for the same
    surface on V5R19 SP05 level than the V5R18 SP02
    Result:
     - R19SP5:
       "Maximum (%) /1.1424", "Minimum (%) / -0.66434".
     - R18SP2:
       "Maximum (%) /1.1428", "Minimum (%) / -0.66505".
          >> Result is different. This is the problem.
    Expected Result:
The correct value should be displayed on the "Flattened
    Surface Length Distortion" dialog box.

Comments

  • Incident Diagnosis:
The maximum and minimum percentage value displayed by the
???display distortion??? command on V5R18 and V5R19SP05 are
    different.
    Correct Application:
The difference observed in the percentage values is very
small and within the precision, hence they are not wrong. It
is important to note that the final result obtained by the
Unfold command is correct and are same on both V5R18 and
V5R19SP05 levels. Whereas the percentages are computed on
temporary data used in the ???Run??? stage of the unfold
operator, they may changed slightly (Within Precision)
however the result is the same after the resolution.
This percentage values shown by ???display distortion??? is only

for information. In order to compare two releases user can
    check directly the output body.
