Error description

  • CATIA SmarTeam integration problem reproducible on standard
    environment (SmDemo or PLMDB)
    .
    Summary of the issue:
    After a network outage, if a user performs a SmarTeam save,
    it will throw an error message (error 5: general database
    error...).
    If the user activates another window (like windows explorer)
    using the task bar and then comes back to the CATIA window
    (still using the task bar), CATIA will seem to be frozen.
    This is because the error message is still here but it is
    hidden between the CATIA window. So it gives the impression
    that CATIA is frozen (alt + tab is the bypass)
    .
    Expected result: This error message should always stay on top
    of the CATIA window

    Incident Diagnosis:
    the dialog needs to have CATIA window as its
    parent to remain on top if the user switches
    between applications.
    Reason:
    CATIA and smarteam are two different processes.
    Error dialog shown by smarteam cannot be
    associated to CATIA so that it remain son top even
    though the user switches between CATIA and other
    applications. User has to press Alt + Tab to bring
    the error dialog to the forward.
    By-Pass:
    User has to press Alt + Tab to bring the error
    dialog to the forward.
