Error description

  • .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Create a pad
    2. Create one datum plane for each mutually perpendicular face o
    pad with offset = 0
    3. Create an Axis System with: X axis = plane 1, Y Axis = plane
    Z axis = plane 3 respectively.
    .
    OBSERVATION1:
Warning message is displayed saying: The selection may be ignore
because the other axes are defined. If you want to free them, us
    Selection in the contextual menu.
    4. Click OK to the message prompt
    .
    OBSERVATION2:
In the Axis System Definition Origin field is No Selection
    .
    5. Click OK to Axis system definition dialog box
    6. Double click on the Axis System just created on the spec tree
    .
    OBSERVATION3:
    The Origin is now 'Coordinates'
    .
    7. Through contextual menu in origin field select No Selection
    8. Click OK to Axis system definition dialog box
    6. Double click on the Axis System in the spec tree
    .
    PROBLEM:
Axis System Origin is still Coordinates. Due to this defect, the
System is not updating when the datum plane is being modified. U
must go in and manually changed the Origin to 'No Selection' to
    the Axis System to update.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
Provide warnings at the end of the Axis System command to educat
user that origin is not explicitly selected and hence Axis syste
will not be associative to origin location

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON Virtual Design VERSION V5R21
    GA level.
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R19 SP7.
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R20 SP1.
    Additional Closure Information:
    .
    Technical explanation of the defect:
Warning message needed at the end of the Axis System command
to inform the user that origin is not explicitly selected and
hence Axis system will not be associative to origin location.
    .
    Technical explanation of the correction:
Warning message is now displayed in case the origin or the
axis is computed by current default calculation, educating
the user that the default computed element is not
    associative with other inputs.
    .
    Possible by-pass and/or correction limitation:
    None
