Error description

• Drafting (GenDraft) / Angle dimensions cannot be
  created by Angle Dimension command but can be
  created using Dimensions Command
  .
  1) Start CATIA V5R18SP5.
  2) Open the CATDrawing.
  3) Click "Angle Dimensions" icon.
  4) Select the pink line of an Front view.
  .
  Problem: The line cannot be selected. Therefore,
  angle dimensions cannot be created.
  .
  Expected : Angle dimensions should be created by
  the "Angle Dimensions" command.
  .
  Important Information: CATIA recognizes the pink
  line as a straight line. Still When executing a
  process 4, a straight line mark is displayed
  .
  Bypass:
  Angle dimensions can be created by "Dimensions"
  command.
  5) Click "Dimensions" icon.
  6) Select the pink line of an Front view.
  7) Select the line of an Front view.
  8) Select "Angle" from context menu.
  9) Select the place of the sheet which creates
  dimensions.  The dimensions is created.

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
  CATIA
  .
  Incident Diagnosis
  impossible to create an angle dimension from a line
  and an element issued from the projection of a
  circle in the view plane. It is possible to create it
  from the "quick dimension" command but not from
  the "Angle" command.
  .
  Restriction Explanation
  The 3D geometry has been rotated (to illustrate the
  trouble), and the cylinder axis is no longer parallel
  to view plane.
  The check is not consistent between the two
  commands. However, the best test is the one that
  make the dimension fail. Correction would thus
  bring a regression to the users.
  .
  Also currently a change process through correction
  will be about tolerances that should be used to
  check this parallelism.
  Each modification would cause heavy impacts in
  different cases. Hence correction is not possible
  .
  By-Pass
  Use "Quick Dimension" command rather when
  Angle dimension fails.
