OK Case
<Preparation>
Please copy CATSettings (in "All CATSetting" folder
which we sent to your) to your environment.
1) Start CATIA : "V5R18SP5HF30" . "Welcome to
CATIA V5 " window is opened.
2) Click "Close" button.  "Welcome to CATIA V5 "
window is closed.
3) Close the "Product1.CATProduct" file .
4) Run CATDUA by "Tools / Utility / CATDUA".
4-1) Select "Tools/ Utility" by menu bar. "Batch
Monitor" window is opened.
4-2) Double Click "CATDUAV5". "CATDUAV5"
window is opened.
4-3) Select "Clean".
4-4) Select "None Plus" in "Error selection" .
4-5) Select "EXT_1" .
4-6) Select the "Folder" button of "Documentation
Selection". "File Selection" dialog box is opened.
4-7) Click "Input Options/ All" button. "Browse
Directory Box" is opened.
4-8) Select the "CATIA_DATA\Before CATDUA"
folder which has the data we send.
4-9) Click "OK" button. "Browse Directory Box" is
closed. The data is selected in "Input directory".
4-10) Click "Change Target Directory" button.
The "Browse Change Target Directory Box" window
is opened.
4-11) Select the "CATIA_DATA\OK_After_CATDUA"
folder.
4-12) Click "OK" button.  The "Browse Change
Target Directory Box" window is
closed.
4-13) Select "Target directory" .
4-14) Click "Default" button."Target directory" is
changed.
4-15)Check "Save non-modified documents" check
box.
4-16)Click "OK" button. "File Selection" window is
closed.
4-17)Click the folder button of "Output". "Browse
Directory Box" is opened.
4-18)Select the "CATIA_DATA\OK_After_CATDUA"
folder.
4-19)Click "OK" button. "Browse Directory Box" is
closed. "Target Directory" is changed.
4-20)Click "Run" button. "CATDUA" is run. The data
is cleaned when the window of a black screen is
closed
.
5)Select "Close" button in the "CATDUAV5"
window. The "CATDUAV5" window is closed.
6)Select "File > Exit" in the "Batch Monitor" window.
7)Open the
file : "CATIA_DATA\OK_After_CATDUA\1.CATProdu
ct" .
Workbench : "Assembly Design" . CATIA files are
opened in 2 seconds.
This is a correct behavior!!
6)Close the file : "1.CATProduct" .
7)Close CATIA.
8)Clear all "CATSetting" in CATSetting folder.

10)Sellect "Start > Mechanical Design > Assembly
Design" . The workbench is changed.
11)Close the "Product1.CATProduct" file .
12) Run CATDUA by "Tools / Utility / CATDUA".
12-1) Select "Tools/ Utility" by menu bar. "Batch
Monitor" window is displayed.
12-2) Double Click "CATDUAV5". "CATDUAV5"
window is displayed.
12-3) Select "Clean".

window. The "CATDUAV5" window is closed.
14)Select "File > Exit" in the "Batch Monitor"
window.
15)Open the file : "1.CATProduct" .
Workbench : "Assembly Design" .
CATIA files are not opened even if 10 minute
passes. This is a problem!!!

EXPECTED RESULT:
Even if it does not apply the "User's CATSettings"
in the <<KO CASE>>, the "1.CATProduct" should
be opened in 2 seconds.

  • THE PROBLEM WAS SUBMITTED ON CATIA
VERSION 5 RELEASE 18.
THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON CATIA
VERSION 5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL.
NOTE : THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON
CATIA V5R19SP04 LEVEL.

Incident Diagnosis:
With default CATSetting CATIA takes too much
time to open data.
.
Reason:
The problem is reproducible on R18SP05 level.
However it is not reproducible on R19 SP04 , R20
GA level. On this level the data is correctly opened
with default CATSettings.
