Error description

  • Licensing: CATIA crash after shareable SMD
    license change in VPMNav environment
    .
    Scenario:
    Setup:
    To be able to reproduce and to have the save
    environment the following steps are important.
    1.Delete the content of your CATSettings directory
    for the CATIA environment.
    2.Start CATIA  and select the license MD2 and
    DER. Confirm with OK. Stop CATIA.
    3. Restart CATIA and choose English for the
    language.(if necessary)
    4. Restart CATIA again.
    5.Go to Tools-Options and type in you VPM
    Navigator server and the orbix port.
    6.Launch the connect to VPM Navigator:
    7. Login to VPM navigator.
    8. Open the delivered CATPart with drag and drop
    into the CATIA session.
    9.Aftre opening CATPart, CATIA will show popup
    windows
    10. Press the OK button.
    11.Save the part in ENOVIA
    12. Go to Tools-Options-General-Shareable
    Products and select the SMD license.
    13. Go to Tools-Customise
    14. Select Part Design and Generative Sheetmetal
    Design and close the windows with the Close
    button.
    15.Go to Tools-Options-General-Shareable
    Products and unselect the SMD license.
    16. Now the setup is complete and the scenario can
    be replayed. Restart CATIA again.
    Scenario:
    1.Start CATIA with VPM Navigator and login:
    2. Query for the part stored in the setup of the
    scenario. Launch the query command :
    Type in * (database contains only the part from the
    setup)
    3. Open CATPart in CATIA:
    4. Select : Document Window as Open Mode
    5. Confirm the warning pressing the OK button.
    6. Start Tools-Options-General-Shareable Products
    and select the check box for the SMD License.
    7. Now switch to workbench : Generative
    Sheetmetal Design
    8. When the system switches to Generative
    sheetmetal design, just switch back to part design
    workbench, to be able to release the SMD license.
    9.Start Tools-Options-General-Shareable Products
    and deselect the check box for the SMD License
    and confirm using the OK button.
    10. Repeat the previous steps at minimum 3 times
    again:
    10.1.Take the shareable SMD license with Tools-
    Option
    10.2.Switch to Generative Sheetmetal Design
    workbench
    10.3.Switch to Part Design workbench
    10.4.Release the SMD license with Tools-Option
    11. CATIA crash abruptly while performing one of
    above 4 steps. This is problem.
