Problem conclusion
THIS MODIFICATION WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE DOCUMENTATION DELIVERED WITH CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL. INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS: When Zoom In/OUT are performed, outline is not displayed or partially displayed. . EXPLANATION: This behavior is due to Z - fighting phenomenon. The faces are drawn with the same vertices than the outlines, and sometimes as the Z is equal the faces are drawn and not the outlines. As in HRD mode the faces are drawn without any color they sometimes hide the outlines. That is why the outlines disappear. This problem is not a V5 problem and this cannot be corrected. . BYPASS: A by-pass is to modify the line width of the edge to a superior value. Hence, the faces do not hide the whole line width. . DOCUMENTATION REFERENCE: Infrastructure User's Guide / Basic Tasks Viewing Objects - About Stitching (or Z Fighting) Effect. . This Modification will be added in the R20 Documentation: . About Stitching (or Z Fighting) Effect titching (also referred to as "Z fighting") is a visual effect totally independent from Version 5 and combines one or more objects on a single one, thus giving a pattern looking like stitches. . When working in HRD mode, a Z fighting effect might occur which could result in an incorrect display: depending on the zoom, outlines might disappear. .
