Error description

  • ASD:Compass rotation increments not being
    honored
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1) Open any assembly that contains a sub
    assembly
    2) Set the compass rotation increments to 90
    degrees
    3) Place (or set snap) and rotate a part within the
assembly. Note that the part honors the 90 degree
    setting.
    4) Open one of the sub assemblies from the higher
level assembly in a New Window.
    5) Set the compass rotation increments to 30
    degrees
    6) Place (or set snap) and rotate a part within the
sub assembly. Note that the part honors the 30
    degree setting.
    7) Return to the window with the higher level asm
and place (or set snap) on a part. Rotate the part
and note that the part does not honor the 30
degree setting but rather is still honoring the 90
    degree setting.
    .
    PROBLEM:
In the higher level assembly the parts are rotating
in increments of 90 degrees but if you open the
compass editor the setting is 30 degrees.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    Compass rotation should be honored.
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL.
    .
INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS: When several windows are
opened, compass values were transmitted from
one window user interface to the others however
they are not taken into account in the compass
manipulations. Each window owns its compass but
the values were stored in the compass panel as
static variables, therefore each panel was not
    having its own values.
    .
    CORRECTION EXPLANATION: The correction has
been done by removing the static declarations so
that each panel will have its own values and values
will not be transmitted from one window to other
    window.
    .
