• Drafting (IntDraft) / Driving dimension can not be
  created though Create driving dimension is ON
  .
  SCENARIO:

  1. Open CATIA V5.
  2. Go toTools/Options / Mechanical Design /
  Drafting / Dimensions Tab/ Dimension Creation in
  this enable Create driving dimension
  3. Open Drawing1.CATDrawing
  4. Click Dimensions icon
  5. Select Pont and Line
  .
  RESULTS OBTAINED:
  .
  Driving dimension is not created though a
  dimension is created between two elements.

  EXPECTED RESULT:
  .
  Driving dimensions should be created.

  DEVELOPMENT REQUEST JUSTIFICATION:
  .
  Distance dimension on projected geometry of type
  line can only be made driving if the dimension line
  is perpendicular to this line. This behaviour is an
  actual limitation of the current modeller.
  .
  Note that behaviour on V5R16SP9 was wrong one
  and corrected on later release.
  .
  Specification change requires new modeller
  evolutions and could be possible through an
  enhancement.

  ANSWER AND BY-PASS:
  .
  Use "Force Dimension on element" mode in Tools
  Palette or press Ctrl key during dimension creation
  in order to keep the dimension in the same
  orientation.
