APAR status

Error description

  • DRAFTING(INTDRAFT) / CHANGES MADE IN
    STANDARD IS NOT REFLECTED IN THE DRAWING
    .
    PROCESS:
    1.Start CATIA V5 in admin mode.
    2. Select Tools / Standards from the contextual
    menu.
    the  Standard Definition dialog box appears.
    3. Select drafting from the dropdown list of
    Category.
    4. Select ISO.xml from the dropdown list of File.
    5. Select ISO / Dress-Up /Symbols /Filled Circle/
    Diameter.
    .
    6. Change the value of Diameter from 2 to 5.
    7. Select ISO / Dress-Up /Symbols /Open Arrow /
    Length.
    8. Change the value of Length from 2 to 5.
    9. Select ISO / Dress-Up /Symbols /Open Arrow /
    Angle.
    10. Change the value of Angle from 30 to 60.
    11. Click Save As New button.
    .
    The  Save As dialog box appears.
    12. Enter test_ISO, and click Save button.
    13. Click OK from the Standard Definition dialog
    box.
    14. Close the CATIA session.
    .
    SCENARIO:
    .
    Case1
    1 .Start CATIA with normal mode.
    2. Create a Drawing with the Standard as test_ISO.
    3. Select Balloon icon
    4. Click any place on the sheet.
    The Balloon Creation dialog box appears.
    5. Click OK button.(Balloon is created.)
    RESULTS:
    The diameter is not changed although the value of
    Diameter is changed to 5 in the Standard.
    This is problem behavior

    Case2
    1. Create a Balloon on the Drawing.
    2.Select the balloon and right click on the
    manipulator.
    the Contextual menu is displayed.
    3. Select Symbol Shape and change it to Open
    Arrow
    RESULTS:
    The open arrow is not displayed with the changed
    value in the standard.
    This is also the problem.

    Case3
    1 .Click Arrow icon icon.
    2 .Click any place on the sheet.
    3. Arrow is created.
    RESULTS:
    The arrow is displayed with the changed made in
    the standard.( this is correct behavior)
    .
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    The changes made in the standard should be
    reflected in the drawing.

    EXPLANATION:
    .
    Customization for leaders extremities has to be
    made in another section of the standard file.
    .
    This is mentioned in the Interactive Drafting user
    documentation:
    "Note that symbol parameters apply only to
    arrows, and not to leaders (annotation leaders,
    dimension leaders, etc.). If you want to modify
    dimension and annotation leader symbols, refer to
    the Dimension Parameters > Dimension and
    Annotation Leader Symbols section."

    Correct Application:
    Modify the "Dimension Parameters / Dimension
    and Annotation Leader Symbols" section.
    .
