Error description

  • ASD : SOME PARTS ARE NOT DISPLAYED IN
    ASSEMBLY.
    .
    SCENARIO:
    0) Apply user defined CATIA settings.
    1) Start CATIA.
    2) Open PumpMotor.CATProduct.
    3) Some of the part (Pump) is not displayed, even
when those parts are supposed to be shown (they
    are not hidden).
    4) However, if we open the Pump.CATPart and then
open the PumpMotor.CATProduct, then parts are
    displayed properly.
    .
    OBSERVATION:
Pump is not displayed in the
    PumpMotor.CATProduct.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    Pump should be displayed correctly.
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 20 LEVEL.
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
    ON V5R19SP03.
    .
    INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
In assembly design workbench, some parts are not
    displayed in assembly.
When a catpart is opened and closed first and later
the catproduct(containing that catpart) is opened,
the catpart is displayed (the catpart and catproduct
are created on a different layer).
    .
    CORRECTION EXPLANATION:
The above problem occured because while opening
the catproduct, old settings of the part are used
which was opened and closed before opening the
product. Due to modification done in algorithm
now, if a catpart is opened and closed first and
then catproduct is opened then the catpart will not
be seen if it is on a different layer than the layer on
which catproduct is created. To view the part user
will have to apply appropriate filter from
    Visualization Filters.
    .
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
When the catpart and catproduct are opened at
same time then the catpart is displayed in the
catproduct. In this case there is no solution as if
objects are visualized twice at a time, the
visualization infrastructure does not allow to show it
in a viewer and hide it in the second viewer. Please
refer to the following documentation reference for
    more clarification.
