  SCENARIO:
  1. Start CATIA V5R17SP3.
  2. Open Product1.CATProduct .
  3. Double-click Product1-A (A.1) -- A.
  = A is activated.
  4. Change the workbench to FreeStyle.
  5. Click Cutting Planes icon.
  = Cutting Plane dialog-box is displayed.
  6. Click Independent planes icon.
  7. Make the following options ON.
  7-1) Display - Planes option
  7-2) Display - Curvature option
  8. Select the Surface and the Plane.
  9. Click OK button.
  = Free Form Analysis.1 / Cutting Plane Analysis.1
  is created.
  10. Double-click Product1.
  = Product1 is activated.
  11. Select B (B.1).
  12. Push Delete key.
  = B (B.1) is deleted.
  13. Select File - Save Management from Menubar.
  = Save Management dialog-box is displayed.
  14. Click Save button.
  15. Click Propagate directory button.
  16. Click OK button.
  = The product is saved.
  17. Delete PartB.CATPart by Windows Explorer.
  18. Close the product.
  19. Exit CATIA.
  20. Start CATIA V5R18SP5.
  21. Open the product saved at step 16.
  22. Double-click Product1-A (A.1) -- A.
  = A is activated.
  23. Change the workbench to FreeStyle.
  24. Double-click Cutting Plane Analysis.1.

  CATIA gets ABEND.

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
  5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
  ON V5R19SP01
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
  ON V5R18SP07
  Incident Diagnosis:
  The part containing input plane was deleted.
  Therefore while editing the Cutting Plane Analysis,
  the input plane could not be found and CATIA
  abends.
  .
  Correction Explanation:
  Now, if the input plane could not be found, an
  empty analysis will be created.
  .
