Error description

  • Failure while saving harness in 3DCOM
    SCENARIO:
    STORE THE HARNESS IN 3DCOM
    1. Create a part in 3dcom and associate file
    HARNESS.CATProduct.
    2. Create a part in 3dcom and associate file
    LIBRARY.CATProduct.
    3. Create a part in 3dcom and associate file
    BUNDLE.CATPart.
    4. Open the three DOCCADs "as reference"
    5. In HARNESS windows, select the LIBRARY
    and "replace component in session" by the
    LIBRARY saved in 3dcom in step 2. Click
    "OK" on "Impacts on replace" window.
    6. In HARNESS windows, select the BUNDLE
    and "replace component in session" by the BUNDLE
    saved in 3dcom in step 3. Click
    "OK" on "Impacts on replace" window.
    7. Update all and switch to Design Mode.
    8. Right-click the BUNDLE and select "Define
    contextual Link". Click "OK".
    9. "Update all".
    10. Save the three files and close all files.
    MODIFY THE HARNESS AND TRY TO SAVE
    11. Load the HARNESS DOCCAD stored in 3dcom
    and switch to Design Mode.
    12. In "Electrical Harness Assembly" workbench,
    use command "remove support" to remove one
    support from Branchable.21 and
    Update.
    13. In "File->Save Management", select all files
    modified (BUNDLE and HARNESS) and save.
    14. In window "save operations", the "OK" button is
    disabled.
    .
    RESULT:The BUNDLE file has the following
    message: "Dependency error. It is not possible to
    execute this modification because at least one of
    prerequisite operation has failed."
    The flexible curve has the following
    message: "Virtual Product Model Error".

    THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON 3DCOM
    VERSION 5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL AND ALSO ON R19SP2 LEVEL.
    Incident Diagnosis: Failure while saving harness in
    3DCOM
    Explanation:
    Use Create and Save method instead of "Copy
    From" option to associate Documents to Parts.
    Copy From is Forbidden due to restriction from
    VPM1.6PTF9 and it is not recommended to use copy
    from for Interoperability.
