Error description

  • OM: BATCH MODE INSTALLATION OF SP LEVEL
    FAILS IF SYNTAX IS IN LOWER CASE.
    THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED ON V5R17SP08.
    THE PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON
    CXR18SP04 LATEST SP LEVEL.
    .
    Scenario:
    1. Copy all content of GA and SP from CDs to your
    local machine.
    2. Now Install GA through Batch mode. Use
    following command in Command Prompt window.
    D:\CATIA18\GA\1\WIN64\StartB.exe ?u
    C:\ProgramFiles\ DassaultSystemes\B18"  -
    newdir ?all
    Where D:\CATIA18\GA is software copied folder
    and C:\ProgramFiles\ DassaultSystemes\B18 is
    installation folder.
    3. After successful GA installation install SP08 with
    following syntax in command prompt  window.
    While giving following syntax give win64 instead of
    WIN64 (User lowercase letters for WIN64)
    D:\CATIA18\SP04\1\win64\StartSPKB.exe -
    u "C:\ProgramFiles\DassaultSystemes\B18? ?bC -
    v ?killprocess
    4. Start installation of SP08.
    5. cxinst.log file returns saying that Service pack
    batch setup has stopped.

    THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON CATIA
    VERSION 5 RELEASE 19 GA LEVEL.
    Batch mode installation is successful on R19 with
    lower case letters.
