  1. Start CATIA V5R18 SP02 on AIX 5.3.0 (customer: SUN Solaris 8)
  2. Open File: 'test.CATDrawing'
  3. -> Drawing with embedded jpg is not shown => Error

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
  CATIA
  Incident Diagnosis :
  A picture embedded using OLE technology is not
  visualized when the drawing is opened on Unix.
  Restriction Explanation :
  OLE technology is provided by Microsoft only on
  Windows Operating System. Thus, visualization of
  embedded picture cannot be retrieved on Unix.
  By-Pass :
  Please use "Insert picture" function to embed
  pictures inside a drawing. This function is provided
  by Dassault Systemes and allows to visualize
  picture on Unix as well as on Windows.
