Error description

  • SKETCHER: ISO CONTRAINED STATUS IS KEPT
EVEN AFTER REMOVING THE CONCENTRICITY AND
THE DASHED LINE IN THE HEXAGON
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Launch CATIA session.
    2. Open new CATPart.
    3. Change workbench to Sketcher workbench.
    4. Click hexagon function icon and create hexagon.
    5. Create constraint of coincidence between center
(original) point of hexagon and original point of HV
    axis system.
    6. Create constraint of length between 2 faced
    edge.
    7. Create constraint of Horizontal on 1 edge.
It seems that status of constraint is iso (full)
constraint because all element of geometry are
    colored in light green.
    8. Delete the constraints Concentricity on spec
    tree.
    9. Delete dashed line which seems to support the
    Concentricity constraint.
    10. Click icon of "Display the sketch solving status"
    and display "sketch solving status".
    .
    PROBLEM:
"Iso-constraint" is displayed though constraint of
Concentricity and dashed line are removed.

Comments

  • Incident Diagnosis:
ISO CONTRAINED STATUS IS KEPT EVEN AFTER
    REMOVING THE CONCENTRICITY AND THE
    DASHED LINE IN THE HEXAGON.
    .
    Correct Application:
The concentric dashed line allows to define the
orientation of the hexagon. This line forces the
direction of the hexagon during its creation.
The dashed line is defined between the center of
hexagon and a middle point of one of the hexagon
sides. The dashed line becomes well-defined when
the center and the used side are well-defined.
    .
If the dashed line is not used to position the
hexagon (no constrained), like in this case, the
dashed line does not have any impact on the
hexagon. It can be removed without changing the
Hexagon status, because it seen as unnecessary
    geometry.
    .
Its a same thing as an iso-constrained rectangle,
you can define a line between the mid points of
opposite sides without change the status. The
    rectangle will
always see as iso-constrained even if you delete
    this line.
    .
