Error description

  • ITEV5CV5: Imposible to assign an image (jpg, tiff) to a CATIA
    material  as a texture map.
    
    Scenario:
    
    - Create a new folder called Materials on the C: drive.
    - Copy honeycomb.jpg from the ..\startup\materials directory
      into the new folder.
    - Rename honeycomb.jpg to hcmb.jpg
    - Launch LCA and create a PRC.
    - Launch CATIA/VPM Nav.
    - Open newly created PRC. Create a material referencing an
      image as reference.
    - Select Start/Infrastructure/Material Library In the Material1
      window RMB on New Material and select Properties
    - In the Properties window, select the Rendering tab and Select
      the Texture tab.
    - In the Texture panel, select the Type pull down and select
      Image- Select the previously copied hcmb.jpg from the
      C:\material folder.
    - Select OK in the Material Properties dialog.
    - Select ENOVIA V5/Save in ENOVIA and save the material to LCA
      database.
    
    Search for Material Library in LCA
    - Start LCA and log in.
    - Select the ENOVIA Home icon.
    - Expand Content Management and click on Documents.
    - Select Search Documents in the pop-up window.
    - Search for the material catalog in the Select Add Save image
      to LCA database
    
    Save image to LCA database
    - In Content Management select New.
    - In the Document ID field type HCMB-IMG.
    - Click Browse and navigate to the hcmb.jpg file.  (Select the
      Delete file from local machine.)
    - Click OK to save to the database.  The HCMB-IMG document
      should be added to Content Management tree .  Re-link Material
      Library to LCA stored image
    - In CATIA/VPM-NAV click on the ENOVIA Search icon.
    - In the Domains: pull-down, select DOCDIR
    - In the Document ID field type a string to search for your
      material library.
    - Click OK.
    - RMB the Material Library in the RESULT window.  Select Open
      from the contextual menu and ok the Open Modes dialog.
    - Double click on the material in the material library to bring
      up the properties panel.
    - On the Texture tab click on the button next to image name.
    - Click Cancel on the Open dialog and select ENOVIA from the
      Browse window.  Type HCMB* in the search conditions and hit
      Apply.  Select HCMB-IMG and click Open.
    
    RESULT: File ENOVIA\HCMB-IMG ---.JPG can not be found

    Development Request Justification
    Non catia documents (such as images for material
    textures) should be stored locally to be used for
    material visualization.
    Answer and By-Pass
    In Catia V5 architecture, it is not possible to link
    and load a non-catia document (image, doc, excel,
    txt files, ....) located in database.
    The documentation will be completed with this
    limitation (on R19 level)
