Error description
PART: EQUIVALENT DIMENSIONS: THE VALUES OF DIMENSIONS IN THE SKETCH ARE NOT KEPT WHEN ADDED. . SCENARIO. 1. Start CATIA V5R17SP06. Refer to the .ppt file attched. 2. Open file: Part1.CATPart . 3. Double click Sketch.1. 4. Click Constraint icon and select the horizontal line. 5. Click Constraint icon and select the vertical line. 6. Exit from the sketcher. 7. Click Equivalent Dimensions icon. Equivalent Dimensions feature Edition dialog box is displayed. 8. Click Edit List button. Choose the parameters for the Equivalent Dimensions feature dialog box is displayed and two Length is dispalyed in Parameters list. 9. Select the two length parameters. 10. Click Adds the selected parameters in the parameters of the Equivalent Dimensions button. Two length parameters move from Parameters list box to Parameters for Equivalent Dimensions list box. 11. Click OK. Back to Equivalent Dimensions feature Edition dialog box. But values of the two length parameters become 0mm. This is the problem. Error: Values of the dimensions of the Sketch are not kept when they are added to Equivalent Dimensions operation. . .

THE PROBLEM WAS SUBMITTED ON : CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 17. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON : CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 19 GA level. . Incident Diagnosis. Values of the dimensions of the Sketch were not kept when they are added to Equivalent Dimensions operation. Due to this problem the feature like Pad created by this sketch fails and gives update error message. Also when the new value is inputted in the Equivalent Dimension dialog box the orientation of the skecth changes. . Reason. Now the values of the dimensions of the sketch are kept while adding them to Equivalent Dimensions. Hence all the above problems does not occur. . This problem is reproducible on V5R17 SP07 level however this problem is not reproducible on the above mentioned level. . Also note this problem is not reproducible on V5R18 SP02 level onwards. . .
