Error description

  • File OPEN: DWG FILE TAKES A LONG TIME TO
    OPEN AND OPENS PARTIALLY.
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Start up CATIA
(Remark: it makes no difference whether you turn
on the two options or not "Paper Spaces in
Background" and "Keep Model Space" under Tools
    + Options + General + Compatibility + DXF+
    Import )
    2. File + Open the supplied dwg.
    3. The task meter runs beyond 100%.
    4. It takes extraordinarily long time before it
comes to an end. This is a problem.
    .
    5. On the graphic screen, it shows a long green
thick "stick" lying approximately 45 degree to the
horizontal. Actually it is just a cascade
    of "viewports".
    6. On the tree, it shows up totally 1330 Viewports.
    7. We show the main view and viewport1 and no-
    show the rest.
    8. It shows the conversion is just partially
    completed. (pls see Item3_In_CATIA.tif)
    9. Comparing to that displayed in AutoCAD,
obviously the conversion in CATIA is far from
satisfaction. This is a problem. (pls see
    Item3_In_AutoCAD.tif)
    .
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 19 GA level.
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
    ON V5R18SP03.
    .
    Incident Diagnosis:
The loop during DWG import was coming from
a specific viewport defined inside the provided
    DWG file.
    .
    Correction Explanation
The DXF/DWG import is now managed correctly for
such kind of specificity (no more Loop and the
    imported file is correct too).
    .
    .
