Error description

  • Bounding Box Issues with Volume Filters
    .
    Scenario:
    Description:
There is an issue with the Bounding Box calculation
such that any model marked as Representation is
included in the Bounding Box. This is regardless of
whether the model is flagged as Define as
Geometry , which causes a Bounding Box
to be created around geometry which is not sent to
CATIA. This leads to erroneous results when
    applying a Volume Filter.
    .
    Steps to Reproduce:
    .
    1. Login to ENOVIA using the Default
    VPMADMIN.ADMIN role
    2. Create a Configured PRC, BOUNDING_BOX_PMR
    3. Create top level assembly,
    BOUNDING_BOX_PMR_ASSY
    4. Insert Second Level
    Instance "BOUNDING_BOX_PMR_DETAIL as a
    DETAIL
    5. Right Click Instance,
    BOUNDING_BOX_PMR_DETAIL ,
    Insert Document New
    6. Create Document with the Document
    ID, DOC_NUMBER1_PRIMARY_REP_GEO , and
attach the NUMBER-1.model (see attachment) with
    Link Type: Representation; Document Role:
Primary, and the box Define as Geometry selected.
    7. Right Click Instance,
    BOUNDING_BOX_PMR_DETAIL , and
    Insert -> Document -> New
    8. Create Document with the Document
    ID, DOC_NUMBER2_SUPPLEMENTARY_DOC , and
attach the NUMBER-2.model (see attachment) with
    Link Type: Documentation; Document Role:
    Supplementary
    9. Wait for File Introspection to complete.
    10. Send Instance, BOUNDING_BOX_PMR_DETAIL
to CATIA V5, and verify that the model, NUMBER-
1.model is the only geometry sent to CATIA.
    11. Close CATIA; in ENOVIA, Right Click the
    Instance BOUNDING_BOX_PMR_DETAIL and select
    Copy
    12. Select the PRC, BOUNDING_BOX_PMR
    13. Select the Define Filters icon on the Right
    Vertical Menu
    14. Click Volume Filter
    15. Choose the Bounding Box radial button
    16. Select the Paste Icon and validate the results:
Xmin: 0.0 in. Xmax: 0.5 in.
Ymin: 0.927 in. Ymax: 3.147 in.
Zmin: 0.0 in. Zmax: 5.0 in.
*This works as expected; the accurate Bounding
    Box for
    NUMBER-1.model is displayed.
    17. Create Document with the Document
    ID, DOC_NUMBER3_SUPPLEMENTARY_REP , and
    attach NUMBER-3.model (see attachment) with
    Link Type: Representation; Document Role:
    Supplementary.
    18. Wait for File Introspection to complete.
    19. Select Instance,
    BOUNDING_BOX_PMR_DETAIL , Right
    Click and select Copy
    20. Select the PRC, BOUNDING_BOX_PMR
    21. Select the Define Filters icon on the Right
    Vertical Menu
    22. Click Volume Filter
    23. Choose the Bounding Box radial button
    24. Select the Paste Icon and validate the results:
Xmin: 0.0 in. Xmax: 0.5 in.
Ymin: 0.927 in. Ymax: 13.687 in.
Zmin: 0.0 in. Zmax: 5.0 in.
*This Bounding Box is incorrect; it encompasses
    Models
    NUMBER-1.model thru NUMBER-3.model. However,
    when the
instance is sent to V5, only NUMBER-1.model is
    displayed.
    .
    Expected Results:
The bounding box for the instance only
encompasses the geometry that is sent to CATIA.
    .
    Actual Results:
All Geometry that is labeled as Representation,
regardless of role or "Define as Geometry", is used
    to calculate the Bounding Box.
    .
