Error description

  • FSS : DRAFT ANALYSIS : THE RESULT OF DRAFT
    ANALYSIS IS WRONG
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Open ABC.CATPart in FSS Workbench.
    2. Click on 'Customize View Parameters' icon
in "View mode" toolbar. "View Mode Customization"
    window is displayed.
    3. Check ON Material option.
    4. Click OK to "View Mode Customization" window.
    5. Double-click "Free Form Analysis / Draft
Analysis.1" in specification tree. "Draft Analysis"
    window is displayed.
    6. Check ON Color Scale option.
    7. Check ON On The Fly option
    .
    OBSERVATION:
The on fly option and color scale color do not give
    same result.
    .

    ==========*===========*==========
THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
    CATIA
    Incident Diagnosis
The ?color scale? and ?on fly? option does not give
the same result in this case.
    Restriction Explanation
The draft analysis (shading) has a precision of
0.1deg. This is due to various factor, one of them is
the discretization of the image that is mapped on
the surface. In other term, the color scale is
translated internally into an image that has a size
that depends on OS and graphic card. It is
generally 4096 pix on windows and generally 1024
    on Unix.
The maximum range of the color scale is -180 to
+180 so the interval is 360deg. If the image size is
4096pix, one pixel is used for an interval of : 360 /
    4096 = 0,08789 deg/pix
As a matter of fact the values 0 and 0.04 can have
    the same pixel
    By-Pass
    1. Starting from R18, the shader mode has a better
precision in term of image discretization. Using
shader mode will give you correct colors in this
    scenario.
    2. Knowing the imprecision of the command
(0.1deg), the user can modify the value of the
color scale to be sure. For example, in this case,
the user enters 0.1 deg instead of 0 so that
everything that is colored in green is over 0.
