Error description

• Preparation:
  1) Copy the Test1 Folder just under C drive
  2) Start CATIA R17SP3HF17.
  3) Tools / option / General / Document
  Please change Linked Document Localization in the
  following order:
  .
  Folder of the pointing document
  Relative folder
  Folder of the link
  Other folders
  Catalog & startup documents
  Entreprise Process-libraries
  IPD
  ENOVIA LCA
  ENOVIA VPM database
  SmarTeam
  .
  4) Tools / option / Infrastructure / Product
  Structure / Cache Management
  Work with the cache system: Active
  5) Close CATIA
  .
  Scenario:
  1) Start CATIA R17SP3HF17
  2) File / Open AAA.CATProduct
  Workbench : Product Structure
  3) File / Desk
  4) Right click BBB.CATPart
  5) Click Load
  -> BBB.CATPart
  6) Repeat Process 4) to 5) for CCC.CATPart
  -> CCC.CATPart is loaded
  7) Close Desk Window
  8) Right click CCC(Part2.1) in tree
  -> Context menu is displayed
  9) Click Part2.1 Object / Open in New Window
  -> CCC.CATPart' is opened
  10) File / Save as and save CCC.CATPart in Test2
  folder (Test2 folder is in Test1 folder)
  -> Save As dialog box is opened
  11) Click Yes in Message box
  12) File / Save Management
  13) Check the Location of CCC.CATPart
  ->  It is OK if saved in Test2 folder
  14) Click Cancel
  15) Right click BBB(Part1.1) in tree
  -> Context menu is displayed
  16) Click to Representations / Visualization Mode
  -> BBB(Part1.1) is changed to Visualization Mode
  17) File / Close CCC.CATPart
  Repeat 15) to 16) for CCC(Part2.1)
  -> CCC(Part1.1) is changed to Visualization Mode
  18) File / Save Management
  19) Click to AAA.CATProduct
  20) Click Save
  21) Click OK
  22) Close AAA.CATProduct
  23) Open Test 1 folder
  24) Delete CCC.CATPart which is just under Test1
  25) File / Open AAA.CATProduct
  -> The following message is displayed:
  .
  Open
  The files in the following list could not be found or
  contain the wrong information for the active
  document.
  C:/Test1/CCC.CATPart
  .
  Expected Result
  The link of CCC.CATPart should be CCC.CATPart
  in Test2 folder.

  23) Open Test 1 folder

  25) File / Open AAA.CATProduct
  -> The following message is displayed:

Problem conclusion

  When the pointed part is unloaded (switched into
  visu mode) the link from the product to this part
  is rerouted onto the original part on disk.
  .
  The document localization strategies that are set
  by the user through Tools/Option/Document are
  used to search the pointed document on disk again
  when it is unloaded.
  The Folder of the pointing document is on the top of
  the Linked Document Localization list so the part is
  searched in the folder of the product first, and the
  original part is found.
  .
  Bypass:
  Remove the part may be removed on disk before
  the switch into visu mode.
  .
  THIS PROBLEM IS A PERMANENT RESTRICTION.
