Error description

  • 3DCOM Create Object Part with Doc leads
    to error
    1. Start 3DCom.
    2.Create a new PART Assembly in VPMENV-
    Environment and bookmark it in a workbook.
    3. Start CATIA V5.
    4. Create a new Part with File -> New -> Part.
    5. Create a cuboid.
    6. Switch to 3DCom in workbook VPM Web Access
    and create a new VPM-PART with DOCUMENT in
    VPMENV.
    7. Copy the PART and paste it under the Assembly-
    PART in the workbook.
    8. Switch to CATIA V5.
    9. Close the CATPart.
    10. Create a new Part with File -> New -> Part.
    11. Create a cylinder.
    12. Switch to 3DCom in workbook VPM Web Access
    and create a new VPM-PART with DOCUMENT in
    VPMENV.
    13. Copy the PART and paste it under the
    Assembly-PART in the workbook.
    14. Rightclick on Assembly-PART  Commit
    modification Select all/Save.
    15. Switch to CATIA V5.
    16. Close the CATPart.
    17. Switch to 3DCom.
    18. Load both Documents into CATIA V5 with Open
    in a new CATIA V5 Product.
    19. Switch to CATIA V5.
    20. Activate a CATPart (e.g. the cylinder).
    21. Switch to 3DCom in the workbook VPM Web
    Access.
    22. Doubleclick Create Object and create a PART
    with DOCUMENT in VPMENV (Source = CATIA V5).

    RESULT:The CATPart will be associated, but you
    get an error message in CATIA V5 as "Attempt to
    access some data from the database CATPart
    Internal Error ".

    to error
    Correction Explanation
    The server name extracted was not correct as the
    storage name retrieved contained the file path. So
    change done so as to set the _where to zero in
    case it contains the file path.
