  • THIS APAR IS CONSIDERED AS A SUGGESTION
    FOR IMPROVEMENT.

    .
    Incident Diagnosis:
Instance name is not duplicated after duplication of
    an assembly root part.
    .
    Development Request Justification
Instances are not totally linked to a part. Indeed a
part, that is instanciated several times in an
assembly can have several instance names.
When you use the function "Duplicate Part" , there
is no reason to keep the instance name, as those
parts can be used in a different context.
To allow instance duplication, you can use the
function "Duplicate Assembly" (please read Enovia
VPM User guide, chapter "Assembly Duplication")
    .
To summarize, the function "Duplicate Part" works
as designed. To allow instance duplication, please
    open an enhancement request.
    .
    By-Pass:
Use function Duplicate Assembly in addition to user
exit to be able to duplicate in same environment.
