Error description

  • ABSTRACT -Objects remain in CATIA memory
    even after closing all windows  in the CATIA
    session.
    .
    SCENARIO-
    1.Launch the CATIA R16SP04.
    2.Open the 'Product 1' in CATIA.
    3.Product 1 should be in Visualization mode.
    4.Run the 'test.CATScript' using ' tools -Macros'
    option.
    5.Msg box is displayed with value 5.
    6.Second msg box is displayed with value 7.
    7.Close all in CATIA.
    8.Run the test.CATscript again.
    .
    PROBLEM
    It shows the msg box with value 2, indicating that
    two documents are still open , but not visible.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT
    After closing all documents in CATIA , Result of
    CATScript should show zero value.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
    CATIA.
    .
    RESTRICTION EXPLANATION-
    The ApplyWorkMode is performed on object that
    are not visualised (sub product level), but there are
    some instance visualised ( Root product level ).
    .
    BY-PASS
    The ApplyWorkMode should be called on the
    visualised level ( when there is a visualised one ).
    In the your case, the visualised level is the Editor
    level, here the Product1.CATProduct that is
    attached to the editor.
    .
    Another ByPass is that before running the macro,
    Open in other editors Product2.CATProduct and
    Product3.CATProduct.
    .
