Error description

  • Problem description:
To change my material of a sheet-metal-part from
steel to stainless steel, when changing the sheet-
metal-standard-file and updating the CATPart all
bend-radius-entries in the bends are set to 0 and
the link to an deduction-table is deleted.
==> Result: The unfolded view is wrong!
After manually setting the configuartion to the right
value, here 1, the unfolded view is correct.
For assistance see the attached "Scenario Bend
    Radius.doc".
    .
    Scenario:
    1. open attached CATPart in workbench Sheet
    Metal Design
    2. select icon "Sheet Metal Parameters"
    3. click "Sheet Standard Files ..."-button
    4. switch filetype to *.txt and select
    "_Niropraeg.txt", click "open"
    5. select thickness 1,25mm
    6. klick OK, update that part
    7. open attached CATDrawing
    8. update the drawing and see the dimension
    "752,896"
    9. switch to the CATPart and open part-body in the
    product-tree
    10. set the configuration for the bend radius table
    of all four bends to
    11. update the CATPart, then the CATDrawing
==> now you see the right value "750,6" as
    dimensioned
    .
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
    CATIA
    .
    Incident Diagnosis :
when using and changing the bend radius table, the
link to bend deduction table is lost
    .
    Restriction Explanation :
The design tables of the part are modified with the
Sheet Metal Parameters: this generates the
modification of the local tables of bend. But when
modifying the tables, you do not know which line of
the table the radius bend must associated with (the
configuration of Bend Radius Table is 0). So, the
user must update the tables manually. To be able
to manage such scenario it needs a development.
This is not possible on Sheetmetal Design (old
workbench). We only make development on
    Generative SheetMetal Design.
    .
    By-Pass :
To update the tables manually: edit the Bend
Radius Table which is below each bend and select
    the line in the table.
