  • INTV4-2D : msg Error Pasting Data "Colinear
Directions" during copy paste from drawing CATIA
V4 to CATIA V5.
It does not work Copy & Paste from V4 model to
V5 Drawing.

1. Start CATIA.
2. Select menu Tool / Options / Compatibility / V4
Data Reading tab.
3. Define V4 project file which is attached.
4. Open "V4 model".
5. Create new CATDrawings with JIS A0.
6. Select "*Draft" tab and click "*Draft" tree.
7. Select "Copy" context menu.
8. Click new Drawing and select "Drawing" spec
tree.
9. Select "Paste" context menu.
10. Error Pasting Data" dialog box is displayed with
below message.
>> Colinear Directions
This is our problem.

Background view plane is incorrect
Problem fixed on V5R17 SP4 and V5R18 GA
Answer and By-Pass
- Create a new view with new background plane
and transfer element in this view
