Error description

  • Synchronize of a CCP Link does not work, but
    status is flaged as OK
    .
Problem: Between the two CATParts a CCP Link
was builed. After a modification of the reference
the Copy was not synchronized, but the status of
the external reference was still flaged as OK.
    .
    Scenario:
    1. Start CATIA V5
    2. Load the both attached CATParts (File-Open).
    .
Result... You find in the CATPart
    called "05_001__Kasten_unten__1234567__A__1__
A.CATPart" a Solid called Solid.84. As you see in
Edits/links, this solid is connected with a CCP link
    to the body "Tragwangen_GT01_Anguss_Id58452"
    of "Ref_Tragwangen_Id58452.CATPart".
Note, that the Symbol (in the specification tree) is
shown as synchronized and no Update is required.
    .
    3. Make again an additonal CCP Link of the
    Body "Tragwangen_GT01_Anguss_Id58452"
    (thtough the publication) of the
    CATPart "Ref_Tragwangen_Id58452.CATPart".
    .
Result... You see, that the new copy has a different
position. The position of the new copy is right.
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
    CATIA
    .
    Incident Diagnosis
CCP Link (which is a link created after a
Copy/Paste as result with link) is OK whereas
geometry (here the position in the 3D space) is not
    the same between 2 parts.
    .
    Restriction Explanation
R&D can not fix the root cause because they need
a scenario (provided by the user) that could
explain the way data has been corrupted.
    .
    By-Pass
The bypass is to sham a modification in the
reference Part to force the synchronisation of the
    link. To do so :
    0. Open the two CATParts
    1. In tools/options/Part infrastructure/general tab,
set the update to manual mode (that will let you
see which modification impacts the 3D position of
    the reference part)
    2. Go on reference part
    3. Edit one of its Part feature or GSD feature (e.g.
the first feature of the first geometrical set)
    4. In definiton pannel, change one of its parameter
    5. Come back to the former value
    6. Click OK
    7. An update is required in reference part, then
    update the part
    8. Go to the destination part
    9. An update is also required. The link becomes
correctly synchronised after the update. The
position in 3D space is now right.
    .
