Error description

  • Cannot select the surface in "Plane direction:" field
    This apar is a following of apar HD47672.
    Scenario :
    1- File / Open CUS7265.CATPart
    2- Select 'Tolerancing Advisor' icon
    3- Select 'Edge/Surface.175/1
    'Semantic Tolerancing Advisor' window appears
    4- Select 'Semantic Datum' option inside window
    Black Simple Datum is displayed
    5- Select the content of Plane Direction field
    6- Select the Surface Surface.175/1/TCD_6921
    Now you can see 'Face' inside Plane Direction field
    7- Select OK and select Close
    8- Select 'Tolerancing Advisor' icon again
    9- Select 'Edge/Surface.175/1
    10- 'Semantic Tolerancing Advisor' window appears
    11- Select 'Semantic Datum' option inside window
    Black Simple Datum is displayed
    12- Select the content of Plane Direction field
    13- Select the Surface Surface.175/1/TCD_6921
    Result:
    We get this window :

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 18 GA level.
    Incident Diagnosis
    Problem was that it was not possible to select the
    same "Plane direction" for two different Datum
    based on the same geometry. If geometry is the
    same, it can be represented by the same plane...
    Correction Explanation
    The correction consists in the comparison of the
    TTRS to know if the plane will represent the same
    TTRS. If yes, then the selection is accepted.
    Answer and By-Pass
    This problem has been corrected on V5R18ga.
