HD53858: BEHAVIOR OF CATSCRIPT MACRO DIFFERT BETWEEN V4 MODEL AND V5 CA TPRODUCT/CATPART

• Closed as user error.

Error description

• PROBLEM:
  The delivered CATScript is able to create empty V4
  model but unable to create empty  V5 CATPart,
  CATProduct.
  SCENARIO:
  1.Create a subdirectory XXX.
  2.Copy delivered "CATProduct", "CATParts"
  and "model" files into XXX.
  3.Copy delivered "CATScript" files in your macro
  library.
  4.Start CATIA V5R16SP03.
  5.Go to Tools->Options->General->Document
  6.Create the DLName as "CATDLN1" pointing to
  subdirectory XXX.
  7.Set the DLName as "Current"and Folder
  as"Allowed"
  8.Go Tools->Macro->Macros.
  9.select the "PAG_266-1.CATScript" and Run it.
  RESULT 1:
  The NEW_266.CATProduct was successfully saved.
  The "TEST-KPR.CATProduct" is created with the
  item
  "Assembly_Split(Assembly_Split.1)" and the item
  "PAG_266_Model(PAG_266.1)". -----------> OK
  11.Go to Tools->Macro->Macros.
  12.Select the "PAG_266-3.CATScript" and Run it.
  RESULT 2:
  The "NEW_266-3.CATProduct" was successfully
  saved.
  The "TEST-KPR-3.CATProduct" is created with the
  only empty item
  "PAG_2666_Model(PAG_2666_Model.1)"( V4
  model) but the expected empty item
  "Assembly_Split(Assembly_Split.1)" (V5
  CATProduct) is missing!(In "Specification tree")-----
  ------->NOK
  13.Go to Tools->Macro->Macros.
  14.select the "PAG_266-6.CATScript" and Run it
  RESULT 3:
  The "NEW_266-6.CATProduct" was successfully
  saved.
  The "TEST-KPR-6.CATProduct" is created with the
  empty item
  "PAG_2666_Model(PAG_2666_Model.1)"(V4
  model) but the     expected empty item
  "Assembly_Split(Assembly_Split.1)"(V5
  CATProdcut) again is missing! (In "Specification
  Tree")-------------> NOK
  .

• Hello ,
  This is an user error.
  Please go through the explaination provided by our
  developer.
  =======>
  If the Part is not reachable,
  AddComponentsFromFiles won't create any
  instance since the reference cannot be reached and
  so the reference cannot be instanciated.
  A V4 model is modelised by an empty component
  that has a V4 model file as representation (the
  model is not the same as the Part model).
  If the model is not reachable,
  AddComponentsFromFiles will create an empty
  component, but since the v4 model is not
  reachable, the model won't be associated as
  representation.
  This is why there is a difference of behavior
  between V4 model and Parts.
