• STCAI : Improper CATIA Contextual links created in
  SMARTEAM
  ..
  scenario:
  1. Open MikeR14.CATProduct in CATIA while linked
  to SMARTEAM.
  2. View the links of MikeR14-2.CATPart.
  3. Notice the Contextual link to
  MikeR14.CATProduct.
  4. Save the CATProduct to SMARTEAM.
  5. Check in the CATProduct and CATParts.
  6. Notice the CATIA links that are created in
  SMARTEAM. Everything is created correctly.
  7. Open the CATProduct for edit.
  8. Check Out the CATProduct and Copy Out the CATParts.
  9. Perform a SmarTeam / Save As... in CATIA on the
  CATProduct.
  10. Check In the new CATProduct.
  11.Check that the CATIA links have been updated
  for the new CATProduct.
  The Contextual link for MikeR14-2.CATPart is
  the new CATProduct.
  12. View a temporary copy of the new CATProduct.
  13. View the links of MikeR14-2.CATPart.
  Problem: The Contextual link for MikeR14-2.CATPart
  is the old CATProduct.

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
  5 RELEASE 17 GA level.
  Correction Explanation
  In this scenario:
  SMARTEAM-Save As will have the same behavior
  as File-Save As. This means:
  1. Before the ST Save As operation, the user will
  be informed about the situation and is invited to do
  a ST Save on the Part if he wants to keep the link
  to the new product.
  2. After ST Save As, the user accepts the Check
  Out on the fly to do a ST Save on the part
  3. After ST Save on the Part ( or on the Root
  Product ), the links in CATIA Session and in ST are
  both updated.
