Error description

  • GSD / SYMMETRY DOES NOT RETAIN COLOR IF A
POINT IS ADDED IN THE PARENT SKETCH
    .
    SCENARIO:
In a new file in GSD
New part and new sketches, in GSD workbench
    1. Make a simple sketch, Rectangle in the xz plane
    of a rectangle.
    2. Exit the sketch
    3. Edit graphic properties to make the sketch blue
    4. Add a new plane at y=2
    5. Add a symmetry to mirror the sketch about the
y=2 plane to get a second, parallel sketch (white in
color). Sketch is mirrored correctly but color is not
    the same.
    6. Change the color of the mirrored sketch
    (Symettry) to red
    7. Edit the first sketch and add a circle and exit.
    8. The result is correct in the mirrored sketch the
color is correct and the circle is created correctly
    OBSERVATION:
    8. Edit the first sketch add a point and exit. The
point is displayed in both, but the red sketch
    (Symmetry) becomes white!
    >>This is problem.
    9. Same problems occur when sketches are
    translated
    EXPECTED RESULT:
The color should not be lost when a point is added
    to the sketch.
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
    CATIA
    .
    Incident Diagnosis
When a GeometricalElement 3D has several
dimensions : its graphic properties cannot be
modified, it remains white. For example : the case
of a GSD Symmetry of a sketch that is composed of
    a point and a rectangle : it has 2 dimensions :
    lineic + point
    .
    Restriction Explanation
We do not manage the graphic properties of a
    GeometricalElement3D that has several different
    dimensions, example lineic + point.
See that this restriction also concerns the sketch
of this scenario : the graphic properties of the
sketch are only applied to its lineic elements
(rectangle and circle in this case), the point is
    not colored.
Difference between the sketch and the
    GeometricalElement3D (the GSD Symmetry) :
    - the graphic properties of the lineic elements
contained inside the sketch are always treated,
even if the sketch contains other elements (which
    remain white)
    - none of the graphic properties of a
    GeometricalElement with several dimensions are
treated : neither the lineic, nore the point, etc. All
    the elements remain white.
