HD40607: SEND TO CATIA V5 AS ASSEMBLY DOES NOT OPEN THE PRIMARY C ONTEND, IT OPENS THE FOLDER DOC ATTACHED TO THE PART

APAR status

Error description

• Send to CATIA V5 as Assembly does not open the
  primary contend, it opens the folder doc attached
  to the part
  .
  1) Logon to EV5
  2) Create a PRC and open it in Product Editor
  3) Under PRC insert an assembly part. Lock usage
  and reference
  4) In Content management, create a folder, a
  document doc1 and a document doc2
  Documents have to be CATPart with simple
  geometry (pad for instance)
  5) Copy doc2 and paste it under folder
  6) In Product Editor, select assembly part and go to
  document tab.
  7) From content management select doc1 and copy
  it
  8) Go back to Product Editor and paste special on
  document in order to paste doc1 as primary
  document.
  9) Copy the folder from content management and
  paste it in document tab as None
  10) Commit
  11) Select assembly part from Product Editor and
  send it to CV5 as assembly
  Result : document opened is the one inside the
  folder not the primary.

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON ENOVIA
  VERSION 5 RELEASE 16 GA level.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
  ON V5R15SP03
  ON V5R14SP08.
  .
  The primary designation is not enough to let CATIA
  know that it should be loaded.
  From the documentation, in the "ENOVIA Life
  Cycle - Inserting a New Document into the Product
  Structure" page:
  .
  If you intend to create multiple CAD representation
  documents that are to be attached to a single part
  reference, you will need to designate one of the
  documents as the automatic CAD representation
  selection. The automatic CAD representation
  selection is the CAD document that automatically
  opens when you send the part to CATIA. You
  designate a document as the automatic CAD
  representation by clicking the Define as Geometry
  box.

  will be loaded.
