HD29651: THE FUNCTION OF LIGHTING IS UNUSUAL

APAR status

• Closed as user error.

Error description

• The function of "Lighting" is unusual
  Machine which carried the "Quadro4 900XGL
  (44.72)" Graphics card.
  1. Apply the following environment variables.
  CATNoStartDocument=YES
  2. Delete all "CATSetting" files.
  ('ReferenceSettingPath' and 'UserSettingPath')
  3. Start CATIA.
  4. Open the file : '..._1.CATPart'
  Workbench:'Functional Tolerancing & Annotation'
  5. Select 'Properties' by Annotation
  Set.1/Notes/Text.1  Context Menu.
  -> The "Properties" window is displayed.
  6. Check that the check is contained in
  "Parallel To Screen" of an "Display" tab.
  7. Click "OK" button.
  -> The "Properties" window is closed.
  8. Open the file : '..._2.CATPart'
  9. Direction of a "Lighting" differs for every Surface.
  This problem is not reproduced by the machine
  which carried "FireGL" Graphics card.

  In the case of Quadro FX graphic adapters, we can
  find following recommandations:
  "On configurations with NVidia Quadro4 and Quadro FX graphic
  adapters, running the 44.71 or
  44.72 drivers, when the CATIA profile is set, the
  following environments variables are set by the
  driver and must be deleted :
  - CAT_NvidiaOptim
  - CAT_VertexArray
  - VisualizationOutput
